What is psychological safety?

Psychological safety is a belief among team members who respect and trust each other that they are safe to take interpersonal and intellectual risks, make mistakes, and voice their concerns without the fear of retribution or negative repercussions to their career.
(Edmondson and Bransby, 2022)

Psychological safety
in the workplace

We are developing a tech-based solution grounded in PhD research which examined the effects of psychological safety and leader behaviours in high-demand, high-stress workplaces. Our product is designed to assist organisations in identifying barriers that are preventing them from building psychological safety and assessing the effectiveness of workplace resources in high-stress work environments.

Our founding partner, Dr Emma Clarke, conducted research using surveys and interviews with an extensive group of leaders, employees, and former employees of law firms. From these insights, she developed The Three-Factor Model of Psychological Safety™. When employees work in a climate of psychological safety this enhances performance, innovation, employee wellbeing, and retention.
